Septic design, installation, and repair for Hope’s mountain and canyon properties
Hope sits at the point where the Fraser Valley narrows into the Fraser Canyon, surrounded by mountains and bordered by the Coquihalla and Fraser Rivers. Canadian Septic serves rural properties throughout the area, from acreages on the valley floor to homes tucked into the forested slopes near the Othello Tunnels and the base of the surrounding peaks.
As the easternmost community in our service area, Hope presents some of the most rugged terrain we work with, and our designs reflect the rock, slope, and river proximity found here.

Our Hope team designs and installs septic systems built for the area’s mountain and canyon terrain.

Much of the land around Hope sits close to bedrock or on sloped ground leading into the Fraser Canyon, which can limit where a conventional drain field is practical and often calls for an engineered alternative.
Properties near the Coquihalla or Fraser Rivers must meet minimum setback requirements, and seasonal water levels are an important factor in where a septic field can be placed.
All septic design and installation work in Hope must be filed with Fraser Health by an ASTTBC Authorized Person. Canadian Septic manages this permitting process from start to finish.

A small job but immediate attention was required and Arien was right there to help. Very friendly and professional. I can not thank him enough for being right there willing to help out my elderly parents and put their minds at ease. Fantastic work!! James and Tom from Canadian Septic showed up within 2 hours of my call and took care of the problem with expertise and efficiency. Thanks for making a very “shitty” situation only a minor disruption! K MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They said they would try to make it out on only a day's notice and did just that. Tom their tech was great! Jessica SonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Canadian Septic. We've had experiences with so many septic companies in the past 20+ years, and Canadian Septic is the best company we've ever worked with! They were very thorough and spent enough time to listen to our concerns and identify issues. When our septic tank alarm went off, we contacted 2-3 different septic companies, but none of them helped when we ended up paying so much for it. But Canadian Septic was so helpful and their team is just amazing!!! Thank you!!!! Janine BenoitTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wow, what can I say? He was amazing, start to finish!! We had an issue with our Septic alarm going off on Friday and not draining, due to a faulty control switch. They talked us through getting the pump to work temporarily, so we could use our system over the weekend and save money. Squeezed us into their schedule and fixed the issue quickly on Monday. We really appreciated their level of knowledge, explaining things I didn't know about, or understand prior and level of professionalism, politeness and he even cleaned up and took the garbage away!! Cost depends heavily on how much rock excavation is required and how close the property sits to a river. We provide a free, itemized estimate after a site visit.
Yes, minimum setback distances apply near both rivers, and our designs account for these requirements from the start.
Fraser Health requires a filed design from an ASTTBC Authorized Person before installation, which Canadian Septic prepares and submits as part of our design service.
Yes, we regularly design engineered systems for properties with shallow soil over bedrock throughout the Hope area.
Most systems benefit from a pump out every three to five years, though rocky or riverside properties may need closer monitoring.
Contact us promptly. Slow drains, odor, or standing water near the field are signs that call for a septic repair assessment.
